A Respiratory Therapist is a specialized healthcare practitioner that focuses on optimizing the performance of your lungs.  In the rehabilitative setting, Respiratory Therapists provide a vital role in both medicine and nursing.  Specialized in both cardiac and pulmonary care, our respiratory therapists administer inhaled drugs and oxygen based on the recommendations of your doctor.  Respiratory therapists are also primary clinicians in conducting tests to measure lung function and teaching people to manage asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, among many other cardiac and lung functions.

Pulmonary rehabilitation:

  • Involves therapies and evaluations by doctors, respiratory therapists, nurses, Occupational and Physical Therapists.
  • Intended to educate the patient, the family, and improve the overall quality of life and prognosis for the patient.
